Falling leaves remind us of the ever changing seasons of our lives. As the days continue to grow shorter, perhaps it's a good time to recall the classic lyrics of To Everything There is a Season reminding us that there is A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, a time to reap that which is planted.
 

Jason Singh is a sound artist and composer. Some of his compositions are born of collaborations with living plants and trees. Attaching a bio-sensor to the leaves, he receives electrical impulses that he then transforms into notes. The music is awesome and expansive.

In this dispatch from the UK, farmer Derek Gow is highlighted for his maverick work to restore almost-extinct British wildlife back to the countryside, creating a zoo bank, often referred to as rewilding.

Gow has spent the past decade emptying his fields of routine livestock and restocking them with the ancestral inhabitants of the northern European landscape. More than once, Gow referred to the perfect circle of death that has devastated the populations of virtually all British wildlife. We’ve done way too much damage to this earth, Gow said, at one point. But the only way to forge a future that is going to be different is to start to look at where we are and reconsider our position.
